The television show “Luck”, on HBO, has faced altercation with the death of three of their horses during shooting. “Luck” is a show based on horse racing, which means multiple horses are needed on set in order to carry out the performances needed for racing.
The show had finished filming its first season and had started to film the next season. Two episodes in, the producers of “Luck” decided that there would not be a second season.
Two of the horses were injured during a racing scene and were euthanized, and the other horse died due to a head injury after rearing up and falling backwards while being led to the stables.
This show’s cancellation was decided off of the controversy, even though three horses have died in the making of the show, communication with American Humane Society was made, making it their priority to keep the animals safe and protect them from harm, though that may not be exactly how it turned out.
