As of Wednesday September 28th, SAG-AFTRA has announced a strike authorization related to video game content. A strike authorization doesn’t necessarily mean that unionized voice actors will strike, but that they have the means and reason to do so. Currently, negotiations are underway to prevent this from happening, but SAG-AFTRA has been attempting to negotiate since Oct. 2022. During this time, many voice actors have been disgruntled and frustrated with the pay, benefits, and more. Negotiations will continue until further notice, where a deal may be reached between SAG-AFTRA and companies on the Interactive Media Agreement.
