Mr. RHS cancelled
Unfortunately Mr. RHS was canceled this year. Originally It contained a silly and serious interview, an opening number, a fitness routine and a talent routine. And contestants were judged and the highest score would win. Let’s get more into the competition now.
The opening number is choreographed by the students on the committee. It is done to a song related to the theme. Various dances are put into it so it would be a great show. But it also gives the boys a chance to be featured in their character costume. And the boys are introduced after it is over.
For the silly interview the contestant would be asked silly questions, and he would have to explain his answer. Some of the questions would be: Are you a morning or a night person? Or, If you were stuck in an elevator and could only listen to one song, what would it be?
Now onto the serious interview; it is just like the silly one. And some of these questions would be: What are your strengths and what are your weaknesses? What do you think is the biggest problem young people face today and why? What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
With the routines (fitness and talent), it could be lots of different things. Many things have been done, some more music based like singing or playing an instrument. Some are more poetic, like a scene from Shakespeare or a poem. And some have been more physical such as a ribbon routine or juggling. The point is that there is something here for everyone.
I talked to Ms.Stanton and she said, “Mr. RHS was canceled due to various factors. I determined that, unfortunately, we would not be ready to put on the quality of show that we wanted by the deadline we had.” So we won’t be able to have Mr. RHS this year. But we can hope that next year we will, and if we do, I know I will be looking forward to it.
