“I have a friend who feels no one cares for them at the moment. Is there anything that could be done to make them know they’re cared about?”
Loneliness isn’t necessarily being all alone or having no one who cares about you. Your friends may not want help even with you standing right in front of them. It can come from insecurities. No matter what you do, your friend might not believe you. all you can really do is be there for them in my opinion.
Some students gave some great feedback about it too. In multiple interviews, people have said “generally be there for them and listen to them,” “ask them if they are ok,” and “do little things to help cheer them up.” An example that could cheer your friend up may be leaving notes to remind them you care.
