The Scientist Rebellion
The Scientist Rebellion
For decades, climate change has been a topic covered in schools, and researched thoroughly by scientists. This issue is sadly brushed off and ignored by a large portion of the global population, including world leaders. Climate change is a genuine problem that, if ignored, can cause devastation to the planet.
Recently, in LA, a NASA Scientist named Peter Kalmus and his colleagues held a protest by chaining themselves to the JP Morgan Chase building. Meanwhile, other scientists surrounded the UK oil and gas company headquarters. Over 1,000 scientists from 25 different countries participated in these protests.
Peter Kalmus, who is one of our worlds greatest minds, pleaded with tears in his eyes that we take action to prevent the devastating effects of climate change.
“I’m here because scientists are not being listened too.” Say Kalmus, “We’ve been trying to warn you guys for so many decades, that we’re heading towards a f*** disaster. And we’ve been being ignored, and scientists of the world have been being ignored, and it’s gotta stop. We’re gonna lose everything, and we are not joking,” Kalmus said.
This chilling quote is opening eyes around the world, and more and more scientists are joining the rebellion every day.
