It’s that time of year again! Haunted Homecoming was Saturday, Oct. 21 and everyone was celebrating Spirit Week. With that, the much-anticipated Powderpuff game took place Wednesday, Oct. 18, bringing the talent of our female athletes to light. Powderpuff is an exciting tradition for Roseburg High School. It is one of the many fun activities we participate in leading up to homecoming.
The girls have been practicing for two weeks, finalizing all of their plays and getting in the spirit for the game, and it showed! Despite being a friendly competition, everyone was fired up and ready to win, especially the seniors, here to defend their winning title.
The coaches were in high spirits as well! “I am very confident, my players have worked extremely hard. My other coaches and I have done our best to put in a solid game plan and I believe our players will execute beautifully,” senior coach Jazz Maclean said when asked how confident he feels with his team.
It was a nail biting finish, but the Juniors were able to come out with the win this year with a score of 6-0, beating the Sophomores. It was a captivating game that kept everyone on the edge of their seats! Despite the loss, the Seniors kept their heads held high and showed great sportsmanship and still had a fun Wednesday night!
During half time, the well-anticipated Homecoming King crowning took place and Wyatt Yutzie was awarded with the title.
Everything from the thrilling game to the crowning of Homecoming King added to the festive atmosphere of Homecoming week.
