Things to do in Roseburg!

There are not many things to do in Roseburg for teens. Luckily for the students of RHS, two of The Orange R staff, Natalia Estrada and Shelby Moore, have done a lot of research. Each week, we will be sharing new ideas of fun activities to do in and around our community.

Thrifting

Thrifting is a very trendy thing to do now. There are many different thrift stores in Roseburg. Sunrise Shop & Save is a very cheap thrift store and some of their profits go to people with disabilities.
The Thrifty Gypsy is a thrift store mainly for music. I have been here many times. It is a great place to find old records and vintage record players.
Goodwill is a very well known thrift store and has things from clothes, decor, shoes, and furniture. Their goal is to help people with disabilities through work opportunities.
The Salvation Army is similar to Goodwill because they sell similar items. They also give back to the community by helping people who are living paycheck to paycheck.
The Umpqua Humane Society is based on selling books and little nik-naks. Their mission is to reduce the number of uncared for animals. Since they started the number has been reduced in the county by 77%.

Hiking

Oregon has a lot of places to hike, here are some of the top places. The BLM North Bank Habitat Management Area and Hiking Trail is a beautiful trail and is highly recommended by others.

Another hiking trail is Toketee Falls. Many of the reviews say it’s a very peaceful hike and a great way to clear your mind.

Susan Creek Trailhead is another great place to hike. Not only is it a hiking trail, it’s also a campground.
