Mrs. Hibbert displays a variety of her students’ ceramic projects in her classroom.

What is ceramics? Ceramic is any hard, brittle, heat-resistant material made by the shaping, then firing, of an inorganic material, such as clay, at a high temperature. The students of Mrs. Hibbert’s ceramics class are provided with clay and tools, which they can use to create whatever comes to mind after completing their assignments. Their assignments include origami bowls, realistic food, and baby faces. Ceramic is an art form but it can also create everyday functional dishware and other daily items.
