The 2021 Girls Soccer Team Portrait.

As we all know, COVID-19 has affected the current school year, and this is no exception for sports. The Roseburg Girls Soccer team has made it through the season with their heads held high despite the circumstances. Head coach Kristin Parks and assistant coach Matt Parks have taken these girls and really helped provide a great, fun 2021 season. JV coach Philipp McAfee has also made a big contribution to this season, not just to his JV team, but by also being ready and able to play the swing players right on the spot with maybe only an hour of preparation before games. The varsity team ended the season only losing two seniors, Sadie DeVault and Noelle Robison. As they both were very important players to the team, the coaches plan to welcome more freshmen to the team next season.
Losing many games this season, the team always took each loss as a learning moment to grow and get stronger. With an overall record of 3-10-1 and a total of 14 goals, Roseburg was ranked 48 by the OSAA.
Despite the rough year, goalkeeper Amy Carpenter and defensive player Emelie Morello were named to the Southwest Conference second team. GO ‘Burg!
