A “natty” is a bodybuilder or athlete who has gained muscle without the use of any performance enhancing drug. A “fake natty” is someone, typically a bodybuilder, who either confesses or is proven to be using PEDs when in the past, the fake natty claimed he or she did not use drugs like steroids and testosterone.
Fitness influencer Dylan McKnight recently confessed to using a steroid called Ostarine (SARM) MK 2866. McKnight claimed that three years ago he took Ostarine and cut the usual dosage in half for a month. His YouTube channel was built upon the concept that “if I can achieve this physique naturally, you can too,” which makes an apology all the more needed because he created unrealistic standards, but to the viewers’ dismay, McKnight explicitly says he’s not sorry and that telling the truth is one of the most selfless things he has ever done in his entire life. He says it was selfless because he could’ve kept lying to his audience and kept making money, so his fans don’t deserve an apology because McKnight is “doing them a favor.”
Moreover, McKnight tells his followers that he didn’t ask them to follow him, but influencers have to realize that having such a big following means they have responsibility whether they like it or not. At the end of the video, there is a montage of McKnight posing half-naked which makes the video even less sincere.
Dylan McKnight was an idol for many lifters and gave them false hope for what’s actually achievable for years. This mishap shows lifters to not trust what they see all the time or compare their physiques to others.
