For some people two weeks away from school and sports can be a long time, finding fun things to do can be difficult. Here are five ideas for activities you can do at home for winter break!
Number one on our list is a game night! Even if you don’t have any board games it is really easy to make fun games to play with the family or friends. Some examples of games you can play are Charades, I Spy, Christmas Scavenger Hunt, and more!
Number two on our list is baking. Baking with family or friends can make good memories and delicious treats to eat. Some easy recipes you can look up are (all recipes are from Allrecipes.com) “Melted Snowman Cookies”, “Raspberry and Almond Shortbread Thumbprints”, “Favorite Old-Fashioned Gingerbread cake”, and “Southern Red Velvet Cake.”
Number three, dance classes! If you can’t go to dance classes you could look up some dances on Youtube or Tiktok. If you don’t want to do either of those you can just put some Christmas music on and dance in your living room.
Number four, hiking. Although it does not snow as often as many think it should, you can always go enjoy nature. Some local places you can go hiking are Blacktail Ridge and Chasm Creek. Some trails for hiking outside of Roseburg are Crater Lake National Park and Mount Hood. If you do go hiking just be careful!
The final thing on our list is building forts. Whether it is in your backyard or inside your house, it can be a fun activity. Even if you don’t do any of the things listed here, you can still have fun with everyone important in your life. Have a wonderful winter break, RHS!
