Being around family members who cook has changed my life. They might’ve not gone to culinary school (with the exception of my uncle), but they have taught me that cooking is a way of showing love. My grandpa, who loves to experiment in the kitchen, makes the most wonderful pumpkin soup; the best part of it is, he doesn’t have a recipe. Trust me, I’ve asked. My g-pa, who doesn’t show love through words, bakes a lovely lemon meringue pie. He puts a heart in the meringue and bakes it in a heart pan; his love is food. So luckily for me, I got my cooking and baking skills from both sides of my family. I like to be in the kitchen, but I find it very annoying when people are in the kitchen with me. The kitchen becomes my zone of “enter if you dare” because I will make a mess (I do clean up the mess). Cooking changed my life, and I hope to inspire others to cook because it’s so much fun.
